Method
Waffle Preparation
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.
- 2
Combine Wet Ingredients
In another mixing bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- 3
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.
- 4
Preheat Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 5
Cook Waffles
Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with non-stick spray or a little melted butter. Pour enough batter into the iron to just cover the waffle grid. Close the lid and cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes, depending on your waffle iron.
- 6
Serve
Once cooked, carefully remove the waffles from the iron and keep them warm in a low oven while you repeat the process for the remaining batter. Serve the waffles warm with butter and maple syrup.
Serving Preparation
- 7
Prepare Butter
Slice the stick of butter into pats and place on a serving dish for easy access.
- 8
Pour Syrup
Pour the maple syrup into a serving bowl or small pitcher for drizzling over the waffles.
