Base Ingredients

Method

Dough Preparation

1

Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm filtered water (1 cup) with active dry yeast (1 tbs). Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, add organic whole wheat flour (2 cups) and salt (1 tsp). Stir until combined.

3

Combine Ingredients

Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil (2 tbs). Mix until a dough begins to form.

4

Knead Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for 1 hour.

Assembling and Baking

5

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure it’s hot enough for baking.

6

Prepare Toppings

While the dough is rising, chop your locally sourced vegetables (2 cups) and set them aside. Prepare organic tomato sauce (1 cup) and shredded organic mozzarella cheese (1 cup).

7

Shape the Dough

After the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll or stretch it out into your desired pizza shape.

8

Add Sauce and Toppings

Spread the organic tomato sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and top with chopped vegetables and fresh basil.

9

Bake the Pizza

Carefully transfer the pizza onto a baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

10

Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy your sustainable pizza!
