In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.
Cook Pancakes

Heat the Pan
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter or oil to coat the surface.

Cook the Pancakes
Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes.

Flip and Finish Cooking
Carefully flip the pancakes and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Serve the pancakes warm with butter and syrup on top.
