Main Ingredients

For Cooking

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, crack 5 large eggs and whisk them until well beaten. Add 1 cup of milk, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Continue to whisk until all ingredients are fully combined and the mixture is smooth.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bread

Take 10 slices of thick bread (brioche or challah preferred) and lay them out on a flat surface. If desired, you can cut the slices in half for smaller portions.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or griddle, heat 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat until melted and bubbling.

  2. 4

    Soak the Bread

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated well. Allow excess mixture to drip off.

  3. 5

    Cook the French Toast

Once the butter is hot, place 4-5 slices of the soaked bread onto the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side. Repeat for remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.

  4. 6

    Serve

Once all slices are cooked, arrange them on a platter. Serve warm with maple syrup and additional butter on the side.
