Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Sprinkle salt and black pepper evenly over both sides of the ribeye steaks. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to enhance flavor.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.

  3. 3

    Add Aromatics

In the last minute of cooking, add crushed garlic and rosemary sprigs to the skillet. Spoon the oil over the steak to infuse flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 6

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Use a potato masher to mash until smooth.

  3. 7

    Add Butter and Milk

Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix until creamy and adjust seasoning to taste.
