Method

Duck Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Duck

Rinse the whole duck under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.

  3. 3

    Season the Duck

Rub the duck all over with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped rosemary. Drizzle olive oil over the duck and rub it in to ensure an even coating.

  4. 4

    Roast the Duck

Place the duck breast side up on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  5. 5

    Rest the Duck

Once cooked, remove the duck from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 6

    Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, orange juice, and grated ginger. Stir well.

  2. 7

    Thicken the Sauce

In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Add this mixture to the saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.

  3. 8

    Serve

Slice the rested duck and serve with the orange ginger sauce drizzled over the top.
