Method

Duck Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Duck

Rinse the duck under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Remove any excess fat from the cavity.

  2. 2

    Season the Duck

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and thyme. Rub this mixture all over the duck, including inside the cavity.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  4. 4

    Prepare for Roasting

Place the duck breast-side up on a rack in a roasting pan. Drizzle olive oil over the duck, ensuring it’s evenly coated.

Roasting the Duck

  1. 5

    Roast the Duck

Place the duck in the preheated oven and roast for about 1 hour, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.

  2. 6

    Baste the Duck

In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. After the first 30 minutes, baste the duck with the mixture every 15 minutes.

Serving the Duck

  1. 7

    Rest the Duck

Once the duck is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.

  2. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices. Serve warm, sliced in half for easy serving.
