Method

For the Pork

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the pork tenderloin and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated pork and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let it rest before slicing.

For the Egg Foo Young

  1. 3

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Stir in the bean sprouts, sliced mushrooms, green onions, and cornstarch until well combined.

  2. 4

    Cook the Egg Foo Young

In a clean skillet, heat a little vegetable oil over medium heat. Pour in a ladleful of the egg mixture and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Repeat until all the mixture is used.

For the Gravy

  1. 5

    Prepare the Gravy

In a saucepan, combine chicken broth, soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until smooth. Stir this mixture into the saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.

For the White Rice

  1. 6

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine white rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes until rice is tender and water is absorbed.
