Method

Preparation of Rice

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of white rice and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Simmer the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.

Preparation of Pork and Snow Peas

  1. 3

    Prepare the Pork

While the rice is cooking, slice the pork tenderloin into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 4

    Marinate the Pork

In a bowl, combine the sliced pork, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  3. 5

    Stir-Fry the Pork

Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated pork and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 6

    Cook the Snow Peas

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of sesame oil. Add the snow peas and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and crisp-tender.

  5. 7

    Combine Ingredients

Return the cooked pork to the skillet with the snow peas. Stir to combine and heat through for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  6. 8

    Garnish

Remove from heat and sprinkle with sliced green onions before serving.
