Pork and Broccoli
White Rice
Method
Pork and Broccoli Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Slice the pork tenderloin into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. Season with salt and black pepper, and set aside.
- 2
Stir-fry the Pork
In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced pork and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the pork from the skillet and set aside.
- 3
Cook the Broccoli
In the same skillet, add a splash of water and the broccoli florets. Cover and steam for about 3-4 minutes, until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.

- 5
Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, cornstarch, and 1/2 cup of water until smooth. Pour the sauce over the pork and broccoli, stirring to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
White Rice Preparation
- 6
Rinse the Rice
Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- 7
Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, 2 cups of water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- 8
Simmer the Rice
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- 9
Fluff the Rice
Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Then fluff with a fork before serving.
