Vegetable Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Broccoli
Wash the broccoli florets under cold water. Cut into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- 2
Make the Garlic Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and red chili flakes. Set aside.
- 3
Cook the Broccoli
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the vegetable broth and bring it to a simmer. Add the broccoli florets and cover. Cook for about 5 minutes until they are bright green and tender but still crisp.
- 4
Add the Sauce
Remove the lid and pour the garlic sauce mixture over the broccoli. Stir well to coat and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
Rice Preparation
- 5
Rinse the Rice
In a fine mesh strainer, rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- 6
Cook the Rice
In a medium pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the rice has absorbed all the water.
