Method
Preparing the Burger Patty
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined.
- 2
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal parts and form each into an 8 oz. patty. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
Cooking the Burger
- 3
Cook Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.
- 4
Cook Patty
In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach desired doneness.
- 5
Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
Preparing Toppings
- 6
- 7
Prepare Sauce
In a small bowl, measure out the Southwest chipotle sauce.
Assembling the Burger
- 8
Toast Buns
Lightly toast the burger buns on a skillet or in a toaster.
- 9
Layer the Burger
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, then the cooked patty with melted cheese, followed by crispy bacon, onion straws, and a slice of tomato. Drizzle with Southwest chipotle sauce.
- 10
Finish Assembling
Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
