Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, take the ground beef and season it with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

  3. 3

    Form the Patty

Divide the seasoned ground beef into a single patty weighing approximately 8 oz. Make sure it’s slightly larger than the burger bun, as it will shrink during cooking.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patty

In the same skillet used for the bacon (or on a grill), cook the beef patty over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and place the slice of American cheese on top. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your preferred doneness.

  5. 5

    Toast the Burger Bun

While the patty is cooking, you can toast the burger bun in the same skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the toasted burger bun, place the lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked beef patty with melted cheese. Add the crispy bacon slices on top, followed by tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles. Finish with ketchup and mustard to taste. Cover with the top half of the bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the bacon cheeseburger immediately with your choice of side, such as fries or a salad.
