Chicken and Marinade

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Rub the half chicken with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, hickory smoke flavor, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Grill the Chicken

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the marinated chicken on the grill, skin side down. Grill for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally and brushing with BBQ sauce.

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

While the chicken is grilling, cut the russet potatoes into fry shapes. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.

  5. 5

    Serve

Once the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F), remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with the crispy French fries and extra BBQ sauce on the side.
