Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cabbage

Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into quarters and remove the core. Slice the cabbage into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Steam the Cabbage

In a large pot, bring about 1 inch of water to a boil. Place the sliced cabbage in a steamer basket and place it over the boiling water. Cover with a lid and steam for 5-7 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.

  3. 3

    Season

Once cooked, remove the cabbage from the steamer and transfer it to a serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and black pepper, and add minced garlic and lemon juice. Toss to combine.

  4. 4

    Serve

Serve the steamed cabbage warm as a side dish or as part of a salad.
