Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a cocktail glass or coupe in the freezer for 5 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the drink to chill it.

2

Add ingredients to mixing glass

Fill a mixing glass or large coupe with the large ice cubes. Pour in 2 oz Grey Goose vodka and 0.5 oz dry vermouth. Add 1 dash of orange bitters.

3

Stir

Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture for 20–30 seconds until well chilled (the mixing glass should feel very cold). Stirring gently chills and dilutes without aerating.

4

Strain

Empty the ice or water from the chilled cocktail glass. Double-strain the stirred cocktail into the chilled glass using a Hawthorne or julep strainer (and a fine mesh if desired).

5

Garnish

Express the oils of a lemon twist over the drink by holding the peel over the cocktail and giving it a quick twist, then rub the rim of the glass with the peel and drop it into the drink as a garnish.

6

Serve

Serve immediately. This recipe makes one cocktail.
