1. Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
2. Add the Sauce
Stir in tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Cook the Noodles
While the sauce is simmering, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
4. Mix the Ricotta Filling
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth.
5. Assemble the Lasagna
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer 4 noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella cheese, and a third of the meat sauce. Repeat layers, ending with noodles and remaining meat sauce. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
6. Bake
Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
7. Cool and Serve
Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
