Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through. Remove from skillet and let rest before slicing.

Make the Alfredo Sauce
In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Slice the cooked chicken and arrange it on top of the pasta.

Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
