Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mâitre d'Hôtel Butter

In a bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, chopped parsley, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated. Form into a log shape, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate until firm.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips. Rinse under cold water to remove excess starch, then pat dry with a towel.

  3. 3

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

  4. 4

Cook the New York Strip Steak

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the New York strip steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides. Once the oil is hot, add the steaks to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes.

  5. 5

    Serve

Slice the steaks and serve them with the pommes frites on the side. Top each steak with a slice of the mâitre d'hôtel butter before serving.
