Pasta Preparation

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4-5 liters of water to a rolling boil.

Add Salt
Once the water is boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Pasta
Add 400g of pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.

Cook Meat
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent. Then add the garlic and cook for another minute.

Add Ground Beef
Add 500g of ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Vegetables
Stir in the chopped carrot and celery, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until softened.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Add 400g of canned crushed tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Simmer Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
After the sauce has simmered, add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
