Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it is hot when you place the cake in.

Prepare the Cake Pans
Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper for easy removal after baking.
Mixing the Batter

Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly mixed.

Incorporate Boiling Water
Carefully stir in the boiling water into the batter. The batter will be thin, but this is normal.
Baking

Pour Batter into Pans
Evenly distribute the batter between the prepared cake pans.

Bake the Cakes
Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, remove from the pans and allow to cool completely on wire racks.
