Method
Prepare the Salad Base
- 1
Wash and Chop
Wash the mixed greens thoroughly under cold water. Spin dry in a salad spinner or pat dry with paper towels. Tear or chop the greens into bite-sized pieces.
- 2
Prepare Tomatoes
Rinse the cherry tomatoes and slice them in half.
- 3
Slice Cucumber
Peel the cucumber if desired, then slice it into rounds or half-moons, depending on your preference.
Make the Croutons
- 4
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 5
Prepare Bread
Cut the bread into small cubes (about 1-inch pieces) and place them in a mixing bowl.
- 6
- 7
Bake Croutons
Spread the seasoned bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through the baking time.
Assemble the Salad
- 8
Combine Ingredients
In a large salad bowl, combine the prepared mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumber.
- 9
Add Croutons
Once the croutons are done baking and have cooled slightly, add them to the salad mix.
- 10
Dress the Salad
Drizzle your choice of dressing over the salad. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
- 11
Toss and Serve
Toss the salad gently to combine all ingredients and ensure the dressing is evenly distributed. Serve immediately.
