Prepare the Steak
Tenderize the beef round steak using a meat mallet, then cut into serving portions.

Cook the Sausage
In a separate skillet, crumble and cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through.

Make the Gravy
Once the sausage is cooked, sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir to combine. Gradually add the milk while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

Prepare the Dough
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the buttermilk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Bake the Biscuits
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden.
