Steak

Shrimp Scampi

Method

Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Sprinkle both sides of the New York Strip steak with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steak in the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let rest.

Making the Shrimp Scampi

  1. 3

    Prepare the Garlic

    Mince the garlic cloves finely.

  2. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet used for the steak, add butter and minced garlic over medium heat. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, then add the jumbo shrimp.

  3. 5

    Add Wine and Seasoning

Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink. Pour in the white wine, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Let simmer for another 2 minutes.

  4. 6

    Finish with Parsley

Stir in chopped parsley and cook for an additional minute. Remove from heat.

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 7

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add salt.

  2. 8

    Cook the Pasta

Add the angel hair pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions (usually 4-5 minutes). Drain and set aside.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

On a plate, place a serving of angel hair pasta. Top with the shrimp scampi and drizzle the sauce over it. Lastly, slice the rested New York Strip steak and arrange it alongside the pasta.
