Method

Preparation of Croutons

  1. 1

    Make the Croutons

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the French bread into small cubes, about 1 inch each. In a mixing bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Bake the Croutons

Spread the coated bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through for even browning. Remove from oven and let cool.

Preparation of Caesar Dressing

  1. 3

    Make the Dressing

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic clove, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 4

    Prepare the Romaine Lettuce

Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Dry it using a salad spinner or pat dry with paper towels. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 5

    Combine Salad Ingredients

In a large bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce, croutons, and Caesar dressing. Toss gently to combine until the lettuce is evenly coated with the dressing.

  3. 6

    Serve the Salad

Transfer the salad to a serving platter or individual bowls. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top. Optionally, add more croutons for extra crunch.
