Churros

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Churro Dough

In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, add flour and stir quickly until the mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Once the dough has cooled, add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch long churros directly into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.

  5. 5

    Fry the Churros

Fry churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Coat in Sugar

In a bowl, mix granulated sugar with ground cinnamon. Roll the hot churros in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated.
