Prepare the Coffee

Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and let it cool slightly. Stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar until dissolved.
Make the Cream Mixture

Whisk Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks until they are pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Slowly add 500 grams of mascarpone cheese to the egg yolks, whisking until smooth and well combined.

Whip Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until it forms soft peaks.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until just incorporated.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Soak Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, lay half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone cream mixture, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Chill and Serve

Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Garnish and Serve
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
