Prepare the Cake

- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and large eggs until light and fluffy.
- 4
- 5
Add Dry Ingredients
Sift in the all-purpose flour and salt, then fold gently using a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 6
Add Vanilla Extract
Stir in the vanilla extract until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- 7
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 8
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- 9
Cool Slightly
Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool for 1-2 minutes. Carefully run a knife around the edges to loosen.
- 10
Invert and Serve
Invert each ramekin onto a plate and gently lift off. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fresh berries if desired.
