Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Water

Start by heating 200 ml of water in a brewing kettle until it reaches about 70°C.

  2. 2

    Malt the Barley

Add 50 g of malted barley to the heated water, stirring gently to combine. Let it steep for about 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Corn

After steeping, add 30 g of corn to the mixture. Stir well and maintain the temperature for another 15 minutes.

Boiling

  1. 4

    Boil the Mixture

Bring the mixture to a rolling boil and add 5 g of hop pellets. Boil for 60 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Flavoring

During the last 10 minutes of boiling, add 10 g of caramel malt and 3 g of cascade hops to enhance flavor.

Fermentation

  1. 6

    Cool the Mixture

Once boiling is complete, cool the mixture quickly using an immersion chiller or an ice bath.

  2. 7

    Add Yeast

Transfer the cooled mixture to a fermentation vessel and add 1 tablespoon of yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock.

  3. 8

    Ferment

Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature for about 7-14 days, or until fermentation is complete.

Bottling

  1. 9

    Bottle the Beer

Once fermentation is complete, bottle the beer using sanitized bottles and caps. Allow it to carbonate for 1-2 weeks.

  2. 10

    Enjoy

After carbonation, chill the bottles and enjoy your homemade Yuengling beer!
