Polpettini Ingredients

Method

Polpettini Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the meat mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well using your hands or a spatula until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

    Form the meatballs

With your hands, take small portions of the meat mixture and roll them into small balls, about the size of a golf ball. Place the formed meatballs on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Brown the meatballs

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides.

  4. 4

    Add the sauce

Once all the meatballs are browned, pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Allow the meatballs to simmer in the sauce for about 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.

  5. 5

    Serve

After simmering, remove the skillet from heat. Serve the polpettini warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired. Enjoy with pasta, crusty bread, or on their own!
