Method

Preparing the Fish

  1. 1

    Season the Fish

Pat the unicorn fish fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Sear the Fish

Once the oil is hot, add the fish fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fish from the skillet and keep warm.

Cooking the Seafood Topping

  1. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through.

  2. 5

    Add the Crabmeat

Gently fold in the lump crabmeat and continue to cook for another minute until heated through.

Making the Sauce

  1. 6

    Prepare the Brown Butter

Add the unsalted butter to the skillet and allow it to melt. Stir continuously until it turns a golden brown color and has a nutty aroma.

  2. 7

    Add Wine and Lemon Juice

Pour in the white wine and fresh lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for a few minutes to reduce slightly.

  3. 8

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Plating the Dish

  1. 9

    Serve

Place the seared unicorn fish fillets on plates. Top with the shrimp and crabmeat mixture, then drizzle with the brown butter white wine lemon sauce.
