Lvivskie 1715 Ingredients

Method

Brewing Directions

  1. 1

    Mashing

In a large pot, heat 15 cups of water to about 160°F (71°C). Add the Pilsner malt and Caramel malt, stirring well. Maintain the temperature around 150°F (65°C) for 60 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sparging

After mashing, drain the liquid (wort) into a kettle. Rinse the grains with hot water to extract more sugars, collecting the runoff into the kettle.

  3. 3

    Boiling

Bring the wort to a boil and add the Saaz hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding more hops at the 30-minute mark for additional bitterness.

  4. 4

    Cooling

After boiling, cool the wort quickly to around 70°F (21°C) using a wort chiller or an ice bath.

  5. 5

    Fermentation

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Add the yeast and seal the vessel with an airlock. Let it ferment for about 2 weeks at around 50°F (10°C).

  6. 6

    Bottling

After fermentation is complete, prepare a sugar solution with the priming sugar and a small amount of water. Mix it into the beer before bottling to carbonate it. Fill sanitized bottles and cap them.

  7. 7

    Conditioning

Store the bottles in a cool, dark place for another 2 weeks to allow carbonation to develop.

  8. 8

    Enjoy

Chill the bottles, pour into a glass, and enjoy your homemade Lvivskie 1715!
