Cake Preparation

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Bake the Cake
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool Cakes
Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Add Hazelnuts
Once it reaches a golden color, remove from heat and quickly stir in the chopped hazelnuts.

Cool and Break Praline
Pour the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it cool until hardened. Once cooled, break into pieces.
Chocolate Ganache Preparation

Heat Cream
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just boiling.

Make Ganache
Pour the hot cream over the chopped dark chocolate in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
Assembly

Layer Cake
Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of chocolate ganache on top. Sprinkle with a portion of the hazelnut praline.

Finish Assembly
Add the second cake layer on top and pour the remaining ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.

Decorate
Decorate the top with whole hazelnuts and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
