Baking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Chocolate
In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and add the semisweet chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

- 3
Combine Mixtures
Slowly pour the warm chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking constantly to temper the eggs. Continue to whisk until fully combined.
- 4
Bake the Custard
Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Pour the custard mixture into ramekins or a baking dish. Place the ramekins in a larger baking dish and fill the outer dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.

Cool and Serve
Remove the ramekins from the water bath and let them cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Serve chilled, optionally topped with whipped cream or chocolate shavings.
