Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Roast
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Season the prime rib roast generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Ensure the seasoning covers all sides of the roast.
- 2
Roasting the Prime Rib
Place the seasoned prime rib on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to develop a crust. After 20 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue roasting for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes for rare, or until the internal temperature reaches 125°F (52°C) to 130°F (54°C) for medium rare.
- 3
Rest the Meat
Remove the roast from the oven and tent it loosely with aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 15 to 20 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
- 4
Serve
Slice the roast to your desired thickness and serve with warm beef au jus and creamy horseradish sauce on the side.
