Prepare the Coffee
Brew the espresso and let it cool. If desired, add coffee liqueur to the coffee.

Whip the Cream
In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso (and liqueur, if using), and layer them in a serving dish.

Layer the Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill
Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

Dust the top with cocoa powder before serving.
