Egg Filling

Method

Egg Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Eggs

Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the pot, remove it from heat, and let it sit for 12 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cool the Eggs

After 12 minutes, transfer the eggs to an ice bath (a bowl filled with ice and water) for about 5 minutes to cool down and stop the cooking process.

  3. 3

    Peel the Eggs

Gently tap each egg on the counter to crack the shell, then peel under running water for easier removal.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Filling

Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl. Add mayonnaise, yellow mustard, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mash together until smooth and creamy.

  5. 5

    Fill the Egg Whites

Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollowed-out egg whites.

Puffed Stars Topping Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare Puffed Stars

If desired, add a few drops of yellow food coloring to the puffed corn snacks and toss until evenly coated.

  2. 7

    Decorate the Deviled Eggs

Place the puffed corn snacks atop the filled deviled eggs to resemble cartoon-like stars.
