Method
Preparing the Patties
Mixing the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.
Forming the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions (approximately 1/3 pound each) and shape them into thick patties. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
Grilling the Patties
Preparing the Toppings
Slicing the Peppers
While the patties are grilling, slice the red and green bell peppers into thin strips.
Assembling the Burger
Toasting the Buns
If desired, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
Layering the Ingredients
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer the shredded lettuce, followed by the grilled burger patty, sliced bell peppers, green chiles, and top with BBQ corn salsa. Place the top half of the bun over the salsa.
