Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and fully combined.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; a few lumps are okay. Do not overmix.

  2. 4

    Heat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Lightly grease with oil or butter.

  3. 5

    Cook the Pancake

Pour the pancake batter into the hot skillet, using about 1/2 cup of batter for a single pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set.

  4. 6

    Flip and Finish

Carefully flip the pancake using a spatula. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown on both sides.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Transfer the pancake to a plate. Top with maple syrup, fresh berries, and whipped cream as desired. Serve warm.
