Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine the warm milk (110°F) and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the frothy yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare Filling

In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 7

    Prepare Butter

Melt the unsalted butter and set aside to cool slightly.

Roll and Bake

  1. 8

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 9

    Add Filling

Spread the melted butter over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.

  3. 10

    Roll Up

Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log shape. Pinch the seams to seal.

  4. 11

    Cut Rolls

Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

  5. 12

    Second Rise

Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.

  6. 13

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Icing Preparation

  1. 14

    Make Icing

In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with more milk if needed.

  2. 15

    Glaze Rolls

Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool slightly before drizzling the icing over the top.
