For the Spicy Tater Tumblers
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel and shred the russet potatoes using a grater or food processor. Place the shredded potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the shredded potatoes, finely chopped jalapeños, shredded cheddar cheese, flour, eggs, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- 3
Shape the Tumblers
Using your hands, form the potato mixture into small, bite-sized tater tumbler shapes, about the size of a golf ball.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Tumblers
Carefully add the tater tumblers to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the spicy tater tumblers hot with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
