Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Vermicelli
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the vermicelli pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Sauté the Shrimp
In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- 3
Add Tomatoes and Wine
Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juices) and white wine. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 4
Finish the Sauce
Add the chopped basil, season with salt and black pepper to taste, and stir to combine.
- 5
Combine with Pasta
Add the cooked vermicelli to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
- 6
Serve
Plate the shrimp scampi and top with grated parmesan cheese before serving.
