Oreo Cookie Ingredients
Method
Oreo Cookie Directions
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- 2
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined. Do not overmix.
- 4
Shape the Cookies
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, about 2 inches apart.
- 5
Bake the Cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set. The centers may look slightly underbaked; they will firm up as they cool.
- 6
Make the Filling
In a medium bowl, beat together the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- 7
Assemble the Cookies
Once the cookies are cool, spread a generous amount of filling onto the flat side of one cookie and sandwich it with another cookie.
