Pizza Dough

Method

Pizza Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil and salt, then gradually mix in the flour until the dough comes together.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 3

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 4

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.

  3. 5

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Spread the chunky tomato sauce evenly over the dough. Layer on the cooked sausage, pepperoni, onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Top with shredded mozzarella and sprinkle with grated Romano.

  4. 6

    Bake the Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.

  5. 7

    Serve

Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve hot.
