Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mushrooms

In a skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms, salt, and black pepper. Sauté until the mushrooms are golden brown and tender, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  3. 3

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and form each into a patty. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of aged cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or skillet. Place each patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of the bun, then top with the sautéed mushrooms. Cover with the top half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the aged cheddar and mushroom burgers immediately with your choice of sides.
