Clams

Garlic Butter Sauce

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the cherrystone clams under cold running water to remove any sand or debris. Scrub the shells with a brush to ensure cleanliness.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Cook the Clams

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the cleaned clams and cover the pot. Steam the clams for about 5-7 minutes or until they open up. Discard any clams that remain closed.

  2. 3

    Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic (chop the cloves finely) and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the fresh parsley, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another minute and remove from heat.

Serving

  1. 4

    Plate the Dish

Transfer the steamed clams to a serving dish. Drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the clams. Garnish with lemon wedges and chopped parsley before serving.
