Crab Cake Mixture

For Cooking

Method

Preparation of Crab Cake Mixture

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and chopped green onions. Be careful not to break apart the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Add Egg and Bread Crumbs

Add the beaten egg and bread crumbs to the crab mixture. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix gently until just combined.

  3. 3

    Form Cakes

Using your hands, form the mixture into patties about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Cooking the Crab Cakes

  1. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 5

    Cook Cakes

Carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet (do this in batches if necessary, to avoid overcrowding). Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.

  3. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, transfer the crab cakes to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
