Fries

Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cut and Soak Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin fries. Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Dry and Season

Drain the soaked fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. In a large bowl, toss the fries with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  3. 3

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the fries in batches and fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Preparing the Toppings

  1. 4

    Sauté Vegetables

In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add diced onions and cook until translucent. Add sliced mushrooms and sweet bell peppers, cooking until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 5

    Cook Plant-Based Beef

In the same skillet, add the plant-based beef crumbles and cook until heated through, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 6

    Layer the Fries

On a large serving platter, place a generous layer of crispy fries. Top with the cooked plant-based beef mixture.

  2. 7

    Melt the Cheese

Sprinkle the white American cheese over the hot toppings. Place the platter under a broiler for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  3. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately while hot.
