Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into uniform sticks, about 1/4 inch thick. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Frying

  1. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). You can use a thermometer for accuracy.

  2. 3

    Dry and Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add a batch of potatoes to the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the pot.

  3. 4

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While still hot, sprinkle the fries with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to taste.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve Hot

Serve the fries immediately while they are warm and crispy. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauces!
