Orange Honey Drizzle
For Frying
Method
Preparation
- 1
Stuff the Olives
Begin by stuffing each large green olive with a small amount of sweet sausage and a piece of blue cheese. Ensure that the olive is fully stuffed but not overfilled.
Breading and Frying
- 2
Prepare the Breading Station
Set up a breading station with three separate bowls: one with the all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs, and another with breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese.
- 3
Bread the Olives
Roll each stuffed olive in the flour, dip it in the beaten eggs, and then coat it with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture. Make sure they are evenly coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Olives
Carefully lower the breaded olives into the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Orange Honey Drizzle
- 6
Make the Drizzle
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the honey, orange zest, and orange juice. Stir until the mixture is warmed through and well combined, then remove from heat.
Serving
- 7
Plate and Serve
Arrange the fried olives on a serving platter and drizzle them with the orange honey mixture. Serve immediately while hot.
